Beyond Ridiculous

Apparently I've been in the dark about something: J.Crew now has a line of clothes for children ages 2-10 (crewcuts) and a line of clothes for dogs (crew mutts).

The prices are unbelievable. What child needs a cashmere "everyday" dress?

And dog clothes? Seriously, I hate clothes for pets. That's what they have fur for people! But, I guess if you're crazy enough to buy clothes for your dog, why not spend $128 for a cashmere dog sweater.

I was just talking to a new Bishopian, about the differences between life in Bishop, and life in a city. In Bishop, J Crew is not even one of the places people get clothes from - here it is sporting goods stores (ie patagonia) or JC Penny. Niether of which offer cashmire everyday dresses. It is amazing how much money you save by not shopping.

I used to be a big fan of J Crew... until I had to spend my own money on it!!! They have some good, high-quality, classic stuff. But some of their items are totally absurd in price, look and obviously practicality.

I also think dog clothes are silly. Beaker is only allowed to wear festive collars. I don't think I even have a cashmere sweater. Too $$$ and I'm sure I would wreck it immediately.
