Ants!

I value them as decomposers in our ecosystem, but not in my kitchen!! Off to exterminate them...

Wow, tell me how, Hawaii is full of them! I can keep them away for a few weeks but they always come back way too soon!

Okay, Fantastic is fantastic. It's not environmentally friendly, but it kills ants and repels them for a little while.

I haven't figured out a long-term solution though. We have tried sprinkling dried basil around where we think they are coming in and it doesn't seem to have much effect (smells good though). My parents swear by a product called Terro. When I lived in Davis, we used Grant's Ant Stakes. I can't find either of those products in this part of the country.

Who is that posting from Hawaii? Those flippin' sugar ants are ALL over the place. Terro works better than anything I've tried, but the Combat syringe for ant killing is pretty good (and often sold out), too! S, you want me to send you some Terro? Had I known, I'da put some in Mollie's last box!

Liv meet Rhian, Rhian meet Liv! Actually, I've never met Rhian but she is my friend NEA's brother's girlfriend, and lives in HI (RGW, I've read your blog!).

Liv is my SIL and also lives in HI.

BTW, my college roommate, Kelsey also lives in Hawaii.

And yes, I would love some Terro.

terro - going to have to look out for that one - thanks!

Hi Liv! Always looking to meet new people out this way, just moved and know no-one! Of course I seem to be in Antarctica more than HI......

RGW, I just posted on your blog.

S, Is your old roomie on Oahu or do you know? I'll whip up a group of girls to get together if they're the type to get out and meet new folks! Could be fun-- especially Art After Dark, the last Friday of every month. It's my favorite!
